How big a cage does a budgie need? Measure yours against the wingspan rule

Number of budgies

Wingspan (cm)

Cage width (cm)

Cage depth (cm)

Cage height (cm)

Gap between bars (cm)

How long are they out of the cage on a normal day?

Wingspan rule from the RSPCA; the vet-manual minimum is shown for comparison. Wild budgies are about 30 cm wingspan, so only change that for a clearly larger bird. This is a size check, not a health check: ask a vet about anything medical.
